Senior Automation Test Engineer – IAM / Cloud (GCP)

🕒 Engagement: B2B Contracting
💰 Rate: 180 – 200 PLN / hour (net, B2B)

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to join a highly technical, cloud-focused engineering team.

This role is automation-first and focuses on testing secure, scalable identity workflows across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), integrating IAM services with custom APIs, Pub/Sub pipelines, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Lead Automation Architect to define and evolve an automation-first test strategy with minimal manual testing

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for web, API, and graph-based systems

• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / GitLab) for automated test execution, reporting, and notifications

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, scenarios, and test data based on functional and technical requirements

• Perform API, integration, event-driven, and graph data testing

• Generate test data and validate data ingestion and transformation pipelines

• Accurately log, track, and validate defects; participate in defect triage and root cause analysis

• Perform manual and exploratory testing where required

• Validate Policy as Code implementations (OPA / Rego) and access decision logic

• Ensure FR / NFR traceability, test entry/exit criteria, and regulatory evidence generation

• Review test cases for coverage, quality, and traceability

• Liaise with business and technical stakeholders on SIT / OAT / UAT scenario definitions

• Communicate progress, risks, and quality metrics to senior stakeholders

• Continuously identify process and tooling improvements

Required Skills & Experience

Core Expertise

• Deep knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts and lifecycle

• Strong understanding of RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, PBAC

• Experience testing policy decision points and policy explainability

• Solid experience (3+ years) in a senior automation testing role

Automation & Testing

• Strong coding skills in Java, Python, TypeScript, Scala or similar

• Proven experience designing automation frameworks from scratch

• Extensive REST API automation and API Gateway testing

• Consumer-driven contract testing

• Replay and reprocessing testing

• Batch / ETL testing

• Graph data validation using Neo4j / Cypher

• Automation-first, layered test architecture, and risk-based test prioritisation

Cloud & DevOps

• Strong experience testing cloud-native systems, especially GCP

• Exposure to AWS, Azure / Entra, AliCloud

• CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitOps)

• Containerised test execution (Docker)

• Shift-left testing practices

Event & Performance Testing

• Event-driven and Pub/Sub / MQ testing

• Exposure to performance and volume testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, NeoLoad, LoadRunner

• Graph database performance analysis (GDBMS)

Tooling & Platforms

• API tools: Postman, Insomnia, Apidog

• Test management: JIRA, Zephyr / Xray

• Experience testing Policy as Code (OPA / Rego)

• Familiarity with identity platforms such as SailPoint IdentityIQ (nice to have)

• Experience with SCIM, OIDC, LDAP, REST, CSV data ingestion formats
