Senior Test Engineer 

📍 Location: Kraków (Hybrid: 2 days/week in the office)💼 Contract Type: B2B Contract💰 Rate: 170–200 PLN/hour

For our client, a leading global financial institution operating in over 60 countries and territories, we are looking for an experienced test engineer to join our Core Banking team. The team delivers solutions on the IBM iSeries platform, and experience in the area of payments will be an additional advantage.

Requirements

• 6+ years of IT experience, including 1+ year in a leadership role.

• Strong understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.

• Proven ability to plan, manage, and mentor testing teams.

• Experience in test data management, defect reporting, test design, and execution.

• Functional knowledge of banking systems and related applications.

• Experience in the Payments domain is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with AS400 (IBM iSeries) environments is a plus.

• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. QC, JIRA).

• Knowledge of test automation tools such as TOSCA or xFramework is an advantage.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Flexible, proactive, and detail-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans, allocate tasks, and monitor project progress.

• Understand and implement project scope within defined timelines.

• Lead and guide the testing team throughout project execution.

• Ensure adherence to internal processes and quality standards.

• Collaborate with Test Managers and on-site coordinators to resolve issues.

• Conduct test design walkthroughs and reviews.

• Maintain a test traceability matrix linking test cases to requirements.

• Prepare and execute manual and automated tests.

• Manage test environments and test data setup.

• Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.

• Keep test documentation complete and up to date.

• Provide regular status reports and testing metrics.

• Manage defect tracking and change management activities.

• Drive test process improvements based on lessons learned.
