We are currently looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (Hadoop) to join an international team within the Wholesale Banking Data Management domain. The role focuses on maintaining and evolving a high-performance data platform supporting large-scale ingestion, processing and analytics workloads.

The project is part of a strategic initiative to modernize the client’s data infrastructure, involving Cloudera (CDP), NiFi, Spark and Google Cloud Platform. You’ll collaborate closely with other data and operations teams to ensure the platform’s reliability, scalability, and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot key components of the Hadoop-based data platform

• Design and implement new functionality, ensuring performance and reliability

• Automate platform configuration and deployment (Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)

• Support and consult other teams using the platform

• Participate in architecture discussions and roadmap development for cloud migration

• Drive improvements in observability, fault tolerance, and efficiency

Requirements:

• Several years of experience in system administration within Linux environments

• Strong background in Big Data platforms (Hadoop ecosystem, Cloudera CDP)

• Experience in automation with Ansible

• Good understanding of DevOps principles

• Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written)

• Experience working in international, distributed teams

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of container-based platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Basic scripting experience with Python
