Senior Java Developer – Kraków (2 days/week in office)Rate: 180–230 PLN/h B2B

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the Core Software Engineering team within the Digital Transformation of Client Outreach program in Global Banking & Markets. The goal of the program is to deliver a best-in-class client onboarding experience using modern, user-friendly, and cost-effective technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend features
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs
• Lead architecture, design, and code decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions
• Estimate engineering efforts and manage realistic schedules
• Identify and resolve complex production issues
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Maintain disciplined use of source control and bug tracking systems
• Document best practices and contribute to knowledge base
• Write unit tests and ensure code reliability
• Refactor and improve maintainability of existing code
• Support customer issue resolution when needed
• Lead large, complex projects with broad business impact
• Translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Deploy and maintain backend applications and systems

Requirements:

• 8–12 years of experience in IT
• Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience with Java 8+, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate JPA
• Hands-on experience with microservices and design patterns
• RESTful API design and development
• Experience with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Familiarity with Python and Groovy
• Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Docker, Git
• Messaging systems (e.g., Solace)
• Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies
• Databases: MongoDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and design patterns

Nice to Have:

• Experience with UNIX/Linux environments
• Background in NLP or AI-based solutions
• Familiarity with MS Visio or Visual Paradigm
• Understanding of cloud-native development
