Senior Backend Engineer (Python, Cloud, DevOps)

Are you an experienced backend engineer passionate about designing scalable systems and modern DevOps practices? We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our growing global treasury technology team and help shape the future of cloud-native financial modelling solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Python-based solutions for treasury and financial modelling systems.

• Develop containerised applications and manage CI/CD automation workflows in a cloud-based environment.

• Build reusable, robust, and well-documented code libraries and APIs for internal use.

• Collaborate with Quantitative Analysts, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver integrated and scalable solutions.

• Contribute to the design and development of end-to-end deployment pipelines and coding environments that support agile model development.

• Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into practical, efficient, and compliant software implementations.

• Support system change management in accordance with internal technology standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development of large-scale systems using Python.

• Proven expertise in cloud technologies, preferably GCP, and containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience designing APIs and building Python libraries for production environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and automation, ideally including Jenkins and GitHub.

• Strong knowledge of at least three of the following: Python, FastAPI, Apache Airflow, S3, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker.

• Solid understanding of test-driven development and writing clear, maintainable technical documentation.

Nice to Have:

• Previous exposure to finance or quantitative analytics domains.

• Experience working in risk, treasury, or financial modelling environments.
