Production Engineering Specialist
📍 Kraków, Poland (hybrid – 8 days per month in the office)
About the Project
Join an international team supporting critical payment systems for a global organization in the financial services sector. As part of the Payments IT department, you will help ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of platforms responsible for payment processing, orchestration, messaging, and financial compliance.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex production issues, automating operational processes, and working with modern infrastructure technologies in a high-availability environment. You'll collaborate with distributed teams across multiple regions and contribute to the continuous evolution of mission-critical systems operating 24/7.
Your Responsibilities
Provide production support for business-critical applications and services
Diagnose incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term preventive solutions
Deploy, maintain, and enhance applications and internally developed tools
Support release management and testing activities related to system enhancements
Monitor system health, performance, and availability using modern observability tools
Investigate application, infrastructure, and database issues across multiple technology layers
Drive automation initiatives and operational improvements aligned with SRE principles
Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams across global locations
Participate in on-call support and contribute to maintaining highly available production environments
Support continuous improvement initiatives within Agile and DevOps frameworks
What We're Looking For
Must-have
Commercial experience in Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
Practical experience working with SQL and Oracle databases (PL/SQL)
Experience with scripting or automation using Bash, Python, or Java
Understanding of application architecture, including operating systems, networking, databases, and application layers
Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar solutions
Experience working in Agile environments and with CI/CD pipelines
Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, production-critical environments
English proficiency at B2+ level
Nice to Have
Experience within the payments, banking, or financial services sector
Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation practices
Additional programming experience in Python or Java
Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies
