Head of Devops

About the Role

We are currently seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of DevOps to lead and scale our client's DevOps function. In this key leadership role, you will define and drive the DevOps strategy, infrastructure, automation, and delivery pipelines for a growing technology organization.

As the Head of DevOps, you will work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure that systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with the company’s technical vision. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall DevOps strategy, tooling, and best practices

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement

• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments

• Oversee cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency

• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

• Work closely with engineering and product teams to streamline releases and minimize downtime

• Define and track key metrics for system reliability, performance, and deployment

• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in all DevOps practices

• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency

• Act as a key stakeholder in architectural decisions involving infrastructure and deployments

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior DevOps or infrastructure leadership role

• Strong knowledge of modern DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code, monitoring)

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration at scale

• Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and automation

• Strong leadership skills, including team management and stakeholder communication

• Experience in scaling DevOps functions in high-growth or complex environments

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment

• Background in software engineering or system administration

• Certifications related to cloud or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)
