Data Engineer – GCP

Location: Kraków (Hybrid – 2 days/week in the office)

Rate: 180–210 PLN/hour (B2B)

About the Role:

For our client in the banking sector, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a global data and analytics team. You will work on building and evolving a modern data platform using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Python, contributing to the development of scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using GCP tools (BigQuery, DataProc, etc.)
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and architects to deliver business insights
• Participate in Agile development processes, including code reviews and sprint planning
• Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability across systems
• Support migration from on-premise Hadoop to GCP
• Troubleshoot and support production data systems

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Python and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, DataProc, etc.)
• Familiarity with data modeling, metadata management, and data integration
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments
• Good communication skills and ability to work in global teams
• Nice to have: experience with Hadoop, PySpark, Airflow, CI/CD
