Job description

Andersen is hiring a System Integrator for a German photonics company. The role focuses on integrating and maintaining toll control systems, improving stability, monitoring, and automation. 

 

The customer is a leading German provider of photonics-based technologies, specializing in high-precision optical and sensor systems for applications across mobility, semiconductor equipment, life sciences, and public safety. With a global workforce of over 4,600 employees and operations in Europe, North America, and Asia, it delivers advanced solutions for smart mobility. 

 

The project is focused on developing, integrating, and maintaining stationary toll control systems with advanced sensors, computing units, and communication modules for automated toll verification. Key tasks include hardware-software integration, deployment setup, and rollout support, with current priorities on improving stability, configuration management, monitoring accuracy, and automated updates. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Configuring and integrating system components (process PC, interface PC, IDS/EMA, cryptographic modules, database). 

  • Conducting end-to-end system and interface tests to verify stability and performance. 

  • Identifying and resolving compatibility issues across hardware and software layers. 

  • Maintaining build environments and support deployment automation using Ansible. 

  • Coordinating system updates, including operating system upgrades and security patches. 

  • Providing input for configuration documentation and rollout procedures. 

  • Working closely with developers and operations staff to ensure system readiness. 

 

Must-haves: 

  • Strong experience in Linux-based system integration and configuration for 2+ years. 

  • Familiarity with deployment automation tools and build chains. 

  • Understanding of embedded system components and interface protocols. 

  • Ability to debug complex integration issues and align configurations across components. 

  • Comfortable working across development and infrastructure domains. 

  • Structured, detail-oriented, and focused on delivering stable systems. - Level of English - from Intermediate+ and above. 

 

Nice-to-haves: 

  • Knowledge of German.
