Lead Data Platform Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead Data Platform Engineer to join one of our client- Airbnb. Airbnb is a global platform that connects millions of guests with unique places to stay and experiences around the world. Since its founding in 2007, the company has transformed the way people travel by making it easier to feel at home anywhere.

Availability 2-3 per week until 9:00 pm due to meetings with the US team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate high‑reliability data pipelines using Apache Airflow and Extract–Transform–Load (ETL) best practices. 

• Implement and maintain data pipelines 

• Develop clean, maintainable code in Python (and/or similar languages) for data processing, tooling. 

• Lead and participate in incident management, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and driving corrective and preventive actions. 

• Proactively improve operational excellence through automation, runbooks, reliability reviews, and technical operations analysis in production environments. 

• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for data and platform services. 

• Basic experience with engineering and maintain observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch–Logstash–Kibana) including metrics, logging, tracing, and health checks.

Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience

• At least 1+ years leading experience.

 Nice to Have:

• Work with event streaming platforms to support real-time data and observability use cases. 

• Security domain knowledge.

• Docker, Kubernetes.

• Develop and review infrastructure-as-code using Terraform in a cloud-native environment (primarily AWS), leveraging AI-assisted coding tools.
