Job Description
The salary range for this position depending on the skill set is as follows (contract of employment, tax-deductible cost):
Senior Data Engineer: PLN 18 400 - 25 410
Additionally, depending on your annual assessment and the company's results:
Annual bonus up to 10% of the annual salary gross
The vacancy is a new position in an IT backoffice team, close to the corporate financial data warehouse and IBM Cognos ecosystem (mostly IBM Planning Analytics, a.k.a. TM1), both for internal and external integrations with on-premise and cloud applications and environments.
About the role:
You will be the main developer of our corporate financial relational data warehouse, which will be the source of truth for other backoffice ecosystems. Most of your time you will be spending with SQL (GCP/BQ and MSSQL) and Python (including CRUD via API of different applications), close to IBM Planning Analytics (OLAP cubes). You will work in a team being an IT bridge between our financial ERP system and preparing financial statements.
To handle issues and plan our work, we use Jira (with weekly sprints) and Slack channels. Mostly you will work in Polish, however rarely (a few times a month) there will be a meeting, user’s issue or case to face with using English only.
We are looking for a specialist who:
Loves SQL, data warehouse, backend and API integrations (must have)
Has experience in designing architecture, building, developing and maintaining SQL databases, especially data warehouse, both facts and planning (must have)
Works daily on designing, using and optimizing ETL processes
Has worked at least with two of them: GCP/BQ, MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake
Has experience in Python, especially pandas and numpy
Has good understanding of backend, including REST API
Takes responsibility for their topics, pay attention to details, are independent and well organized
Used to create dashboards (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
Nice to have:
Has worked with OLAP cubes
Has experience in leading projects and change requests
Is familiar with Django, Java (especially Apache, Tomcat), Podman (or Docker), Javascript (any: vanilla or a framework; including npm, node.js), git (GitHub)
Has knowledge about security management
Is familiar with IBM Planning Analytics or IBM Controller
Has understanding of accounting, controlling, treasury, financial consolidation and HR processes
Shows initiative and dynamism in action, they can prioritize tasks
Speaks English at work to discuss at meetings about users’ cases (B2 level at least)
As a specialist, within the Cognos ecosystem you will:
Co-work with BI, data, and software engineers to design, develop, and implement a financial data warehouse
Manage data flow between applications like IBM Planning Analytics (OLAP cubes), SAP, Google Cloud Platform and SQL databases
Support over 400 users from finance teams and management who use the Cognos ecosystem for reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Work on Windows Servers and Red Hat. We have 20ish virtual machines in the productive environment and 8 in non-production. You will have local admin/root permission.
Maintain and manage the infrastructure and security of subordinate systems, working on Windows Servers and Red Hat
Analyze user requirements and create solutions, coordinate projects, and support business users
Prepare both business and technical documentation
Cooperate with external vendors
Track and resolve your own tickets
