aleno is the first digital assistant for hotels and restaurants, bringing together what belongs together: guests and hosts, personal appreciation and artificial intelligence, hospitality and technology experts. Our goal is to support outstanding hosts to be even more successful in their business. This is what drives our passion. Over 2,300 hoteliers, restaurateurs and decision-makers from the hospitality industry rely on aleno's software solution: for more efficiency, better planning and reliable decisions in the areas of marketing, operations and business.
We are rapidly growing across Europe, and therefore, we are looking for an experienced and outgoing backend engineer with a strong preference for cloud and microservice architectures.
- You'll work with product, design, and other engineers to build new product features from start to finish: through conception, research, implementation, and maintenance. For example, you might build an integration with a CRM.
- Leverage your backend knowledge to help improve performance and reliability and polish existing features.
- Establish best practices development in engineering for the Marketplace Team.
- Great English language skills.
- Experience with NodeJS and Typescript.
- Experience with building SaaS applications (ideally in a product-led company).
- Experience with developing microservice-oriented systems.
- Experience with GraphQL (we use Apollo Federation heavily).
- Experience with AWS and its ecosystem (Lambdas, going through CloudWatch logs).
- (optional) Knowledge of DevOps culture and tools like GitHub Actions or Terraform.
-
Hardware. The home office budget covers a laptop and a headset (if needed).
-
Flexible working hours. Due to the customer support and the daily cycle of our core customer base, 10:00-15:00 CET is required. If you need to finish up earlier, it’s fine — that’s just the default. Other than that, there are no restrictions — just attend the meetings and stay in alignment with the team.
-
Paid time off. All bank holidays are off. On top of that, there are 26 days of paid time off and 5 days of sick leave.
-
Traveling. Company retreats twice a year are expected but not mandatory (once for the whole company and once for the product team). All conferences, local events, and online events (meetups, conferences, etc.) are highly encouraged but not mandatory. Traveling expenses can be covered in case of being a speaker and clearly mentioning aleno (for hiring, marketing, etc.).
You are joining the Marketplace Team, working on various integrations with 3rd parties to bring new features and improve the existing ones. The team is working in a cloud-native environment, creating independent services.
