Shape the future of our Cloud Networking Platform

You will be part of a team responsible for designing and developing tests, contributing to testing frameworks, and managing test execution pipelines for our portfolio of products, which are designed to manage IP Addresses across the Akamai Connected Cloud. The team focuses on test automation and automated workflows, with a strong emphasis on integrating testing into CI/CD release pipelines.

As a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Being a major contributor in developing the tests, supporting frameworks and CI/CT/CD pipelines validating our infrastructure.
• Contributing towards building the roadmap for enterprise IP addressing and connectivity features. 
• Validating and testing cloud-native technologies and architectures, including monitoring, troubleshooting and improving test execution pipelines.
• Participating in the definition and adoption of best practices, knowledge sharing.
• Collaborating with engineering teams, SDET engineers and other stakeholders in an Agile environment to ensure high product quality.
• Working in an environment that fosters innovative solutions, rapid development cycles, and open communication.
• Comfortable working independently and also with occasional mentoring of more junior SDETs.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8+ years of experience in developing test automation solutions using widely accepted frameworks, with the ability to contribute to and enhance shared toolkits, utilities, and libraries.
• Have experience with Pytest, or other test automation and frameworks and comfortability leveraging Python or Bash for scripting.
• Have experience working with, operating or testing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using cloud-native technologies.
• Have experience leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices like Jenkins, Perforce, Git and Docker.  
• Be familiar using infrastructure as code tools like Crossplane, Pulumi, Terraform or Ansible.
• Have strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for resolving test-related issues in complex platforms.
• Understand networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, IPv6, VLANs, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
