Summary of Role
As a key member of the Cloud Infrastructure team, this role will primarily be responsible for looking after our AWS and Azure cloud deployments, maintaining and improving the server landscape as well as the security configurations of the environment. The day-to-day tasks will include working with our international team to deliver new projects and improve the applications that have been deployed to both AWS and Azure.
Additionally, the role will require deep involvement with the network infrastructure, both within AWS/Azure as well as the physical office networks. This would include management and implementations on firewalls and switches, both physically as well as virtual, to the highest security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of our AWS and Azure Cloud environments
- Deployment of new projects and application upgrades our Cloud environments
- Implement AWS improvements and solutions
- Assist project teams, developers and testers with getting the most out of new deployments
- Manage the physical network devices, both wired as well as wireless
- Improve security standards
Technologies
- Amazon AWS, Linux servers as well as serverless deployments, VPC, S3
- Oracle and MySQL databases
- Microsoft Azure
- Juniper, Aruba and Fortigate network devices
- Wired, Wireless, VPN
Skills
- 2-5 years’ experience managing Linux servers in a corporate environment
- Working knowledge with AWS environments, both maintenance as well as deployments
- Basic knowledge on database structures and their configuration
- Basic scripting skills
- Networking knowledge on CCNA or JNCIA or similar level
- Strong security focus and aiming to increase security configurations
