Job description

DESCRIPTION

Looking for a skilled Principal Programmer who will be responsible for working on some of the most important technical challenges, as well as contributing to the evolution of our technologies. In this role you will work alongside people who’ve co-invented some of the industry’s most impactful and successful games. This hands-on role is best suited for engineers who can go deep into a broad range of systems and understand the value of engineering for innovation and iteration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personally tackle some of the company’s toughest programming and technical challenges. 
  • Act as a technical escalation point, assisting the team in resolving complex technical challenges and debugging critical issues.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines.
  • Maintain an in-depth working knowledge of our game’s architecture and systems and the work we’re doing to improve them.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges; define, estimate, and prioritize tasks; coordinate resources; and review code and deliverables to achieve our quality, creative, and timing objectives.
  • Work with engineering leads to hire, mentor, and evaluate the people and performance of our engineering team

REQUIREMENTS

  • 12+ years of game engineering experience that includes both console and PC titles.
  • Proven experience shipping multiple original games, preferably first- or third-person action-oriented games.
  • Experience with multiplatform development (PC and consoles) and understanding of platform-specific requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Principal or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Frequent player of action-oriented videogames
  • Experience with Unreal Engine is a big plus.
