The beginning

Gamefound was established in 2016 by Marcin Świerkot, the CEO of Awaken Realms, and Szymon Matyjaszek, the highly talented developer, serving as CTO. Initially, it was developed as a pledge manager for select creators who realized that successful crowdfunding campaigns require specialized tools for fulfillment. Awaken Realms was the first to utilize this new system, and it wasn't long before other creators joined, propelling Gamefound's growth as an independent platform.

The evolution

Over the years, the platform has continuously evolved, with new features and improvements being added regularly. This evolution accelerated over time. In March 2019, we celebrated reaching 100,000 backers. Exactly one year later, on March 5, 2020, the 100th creator launched a project on our platform. On December 17, 2020, Gamefound hosted its first fully-fledged crowdfunding campaign with ISS Vanguard, marking a significant milestone. This campaign was a tremendous success, setting the stage for hundreds of remarkable projects that followed.

Today

We have surpassed the milestone of one million backers and have hosted projects from hundreds of creators. Gamefound experiences exponential growth each year, attracting new creators and backers. Today, Gamefound serves as a comprehensive platform where creators can manage their campaigns from the initial announcement and acquisition of the first follower, to fulfilling the final order, and even managing long-tail sales of remaining stock. In February 2022, Ravensburger joined as a strategic investor.
