We are innovation leaders in logistics. Now in our fifth generation, we are shaping the logistics of the future. Since its formation by Joan Joseph Fiege in 1873, FIEGE has been family-run – and still is to date, by now in the fifth generation. A company does not become 150 years old just like that. It is the people who make it, who carry it every day, fill it with life and constantly develop it further.
Joan Joseph Fiege founds his haulage business in Greven in Westphalia, Germany in 1873. Initially, the transport business is a genuine sideline for the farmer. He uses a horse- drawn cart to bring coal to his customer.
A new era begins after purchasing a goods vehicle in 1924. A revolutionary purchase at the time, Josef Fiege junior asserts himself against his father’s initial skepticism. The motorized power considerably increases not just transport capacities but also the range of operation.
In 1928 company receives tis first long- distance transport contract.
First FIEGE warehouse in Bremen.
Everything began in 1997 with the contract from a multi-national US technology group for which at first an old farming building in a small village named Odrzywołek was repurposed into a temporary warehouse. A few years later, FIEGE built a first modern logistics centre in Mszczonów, to the south-west of Warsaw.
The growth record is indeed impressive. The number of employees has increased more than a thousand-fold, to roughly 7,500. With over 600,000 square metres of logistics space at 13 locations, we have evolved into one of the most important logistics providers in the region.
Big time setting, big time football: 3,000+ fans and players head to Lampertheim in Hesse for the 18th instalment of the FIEGE Soccer Cup.
